Secura 6-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker 6qt, 18/10 Stainless Steel Cooking Pot, Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Steamer, Rice Cooker, Browning/Sauté, Soup Maker

Slow cookers are energy efficient. They use a heat source roughly equivalent to two 250 watt light bulbs running for three to 12 hours, compared to an oven, which uses about 700 watts. So, is the Secura 6-in-1 Electric Pressure Cooker a good purchase?

Available at about $100 the Secura 6-in-1 is one of the cheaper slow cookers available, however the word cheap is proven to not be synonymous with poor quality here. Although technically a pressure cooker the Secura can do more jobs than it’s main competitors.

Design

The inner crock pot the Secura 6-in-1 has is made of stainless steel, the lid from heavy duty steel and the handles are made using cool-touch techonology, allowing for portabilty if you want to bring it in to the dining room. With a sleek design this slow cooker manages to look smart as well as cook smart. Lastly, despite the fact we weren’t aware of lafraise products, the Secura 6-in-1 is built with durability in mind. Solid construction all round.
The interface has many buttons that include a time delay that can set cooking to commence in up to 24 hours, a warming function and all the 6-in-1 functions. Such as, steam, pressure cook, slow cook, saute, brown and rice. This is not only great because of the different tasks it can accomplish but also because it can save time having presets to take guesswork out.

Cooking power

With the ability to pressure cook, slow cook, steam and brown food, it is a highly versatile product, just take the lid off, fill the 6 quart pot with water and place vegetables on the rack. Put the lid back on and enjoy the best way to cook vegetables! With chicken, it only takes a few hours to get delicious tender poultry, and the pressure cooker only takes a few minutes to de-pressurize. Personally I recommend using the Secura 6-in-1 to create stew, the meat doesn’t have to be top quality and the slow cooking really brings out the tenderness and the flavor.

Cleaning ease

The lafraise Secura 6-in-1 slow cooker/pressure cooker is one of the easiest slow cooker there are to clean, with a dishwasher safe cooking pot there’s no manual work aside from wiping the lid. Once you invest in a slow cooker you’ll realize how easy cleaning can be. One problem to note about the Secura 6-in-1 is the display, while it’s competitors have attempted to create a display that holds many different pieces of information, the secura only displays the time left for the cooker to run. Not a big deal at all but it does detract from the overall quality of the cooker.

Amazon Rating

An incredible 88% of customers give lafraise 4 or better for the Secura 6-in-1, with 73% giving the very best rating. Users compliment how well it’s builtand their results with cooking all types of food. I did find a few that agreed about the cheapish looking display however overall very positive reviews indeed.

Our Verdict

With the display aside, this is a high quality slow/pressure cooker that delivers on tasty cooking and adaptability to many tasks. For the price there isn’t better available.
