Featuring 15 different cooking functions, 1875 W of power, and interior capacity larger than its main competitor, the Breville BOV800XL 1800 W, does the TOB-260 earn the extra space it takes up on your counter top?
Firstly, the main cooking functions available are toast, bagel, waffle, bake, broil, roast, pizza, sandwich and keep warm. These functions save valuable time in the kitchen by allowing you to concentrate on other things than setting the heat and time settings. The Cuisinart TOB-260 does all of this and cooks well.
Two other functions with buttons on the interface are dual cook and speed convention, dual cook allows you to set the counter top toaster oven to such as, bake a rack of ribs for 45 minutes and automatically slow cooked them for another hour, a very clever feature. The speed convention feature works by heating frozen foods quickly saving time, a fairly basic feature however the results from cooking ready meals this way are effective.
The Cuisinart TOB-260 Smart oven’s most impressive feature is its design, it can hold over a 13 inch pizza base inside no problem, so it does justify the amount of space it would take up. It also comes with a ceramic baking stone which is a nice touch. The oven is housed in a sleek understated stainless steel finish it gives a modern look to the kitchen. One feature I particularly enjoy about the TOB – 260 is the large window that isn’t shaded so I can see how my food is coming along while cooking.
With an interior light and door sensor the TOB-260 has been ergonomically designed bringing power despite its compact size, with a non-stick interior and a rack that slides out automatically it really does give a feel that it’s expensive and well made.Check Current Price on Amazon
The Cuisinart TOB-260 Smart oven cooks very cleverly by having an automatic heat sensor, this means the temperature is always being monitored so it stays at the correct heat regardless of its surroundings, despite it being a countertop oven it cooks incredibly precisely. The toasting function even comes with a shade control so you can get the consistent brownness for your toast!
Coming with a tray, two cooking racks, a 9″ x 13″ baking and broiling pan, and a 13 inch pizza stone
Is the Cuisinart TOB-260 worth it?
The Cuisinart is the best choice in my opinion for three reasons, number one in comparison to its leading competitor the Breville BOV800XL Cuisinart offer a three-year warranty in comparison to the one-year offered by Breville. Number two, its size. Being slightly larger than the Breville BOV800XL and the Panasonic NB G110P Xpress Toaster it can cook food more efficiently. And number three, admittedly a small one, the TOB-260 has a light and transparent door to see how cooking is going.
Amazon reviews and rating
Upon checking the reviews for the TOB-260 it’s clear to see many agree that it is the best countertop oven. With over 200 reviews it currently has a score of 4.7 stars out of 5.0 with reviewers complementing its clever design, useful functions and impressive size. With only 5% of users leaving three stars or less it’s hard to find many negatives, however, some believe that the function controls feel a little flimsy.See Amazon Reviews
